Edirol announces the FA-101, a 10 input - 10 output FireWire bus-powered audio interface offering 2 premium mic preamps with phantom power, 6 dedicated TRS balanced inputs & 8 dedicated TRS balanced outputs. This half-rack unit has a front-mounted optical S/P DIF input & output and rear accessible MIDI input & output. The FA-101 offers simultaneous 10 inputs & 10 outputs at up to 24-bit/96kHz audio quality on both PC (ASIO2.0, WDM) & Mac (CoreAudio). The FA-101 supports six in and out operation at 24-bit/192kHz (not stereo in/out at 192kHz as originally advertised!). It is capable of running completely from the power of the FireWire bus, and can also be powered by the included DC adapter when used with 4-pin FireWire ports. The FA-101 comes with a powerful control panel for routing various inputs & computer signals to different tracks & outputs, offering a new level of audio recording & playback capability to the mobile recording & performing musician.
